Then join Student Affairs IT's student developer team! Our department manages more than 75 websites receiving over 14 million page views a year. These include sites like the Registrar's Office, Financial Aid, Residential Life, Recreation, Ashe Center, SOLE, BRC, CAPS, and many more.

We're looking for a qualified, passionate student developer to help us maintain, extend, and upgrade the systems and apps that power our websites while providing valuable student perspective.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with other developers to implement features, update content, and fix bugs on our websites
  • Develop and integrate our emerging Student Affairs design system with our various content publishing platforms
  • Learn, implement, and advocate for accessible solutions when developing and advising in the publishing of online content
  • Help establish and refine on our collaborative processes when it comes to planning, iterating, and releasing changes

What You'll Bring

  • A basic understanding of core HTML, CSS, and JavaScript technologies
  • An eagerness and flexibility for learning full-stack frameworks like SvelteKit
  • A strong eye for design, filling in the blanks when adding features and making changes
  • Empathy and understanding for diverse student needs with a user-centered perspective
  • The ability to work independently, communicate progress, and adapt to change

The Details

  • $20.60/hour
  • Mostly remote, with 1-2 in-person meetings a quarter
  • Minimum 4 hours/week commitment for weeks 1-9 of winter and spring quarters
  • Maximum hours are flexible up to 10 hours/week over a 4-week rolling average
  • Expected start date early- to mid-fall quarter, pending paperwork
  • Expected end date Friday week 9 of spring quarter, flexible to June 30, 2026
  • Possible employment past June 2026, contingent on continued position funding
  • U.S. work authorization required, not eligible for visa, OPT, or CPT applicants
  • Preference given to those graduating Spring 2027 or later
